Our Team

Steve Pruett (Interim Pastor)

Steve and His wife Sue served for 10 years as missionaries to the Philippines with New Tribes Mission.  They lived and worked in the tropical jungle on the Island of Palawan, reaching a primitive nomadic tribe called the Batak. They were involved in evangelism, teaching, literacy, medical work and Bible translation, and God used them over the years to bring many Batak tribal people to faith in Christ.

As that work closed, they moved in 1988 to Santa Maria, to start an Evangelical Free Church, which eventually became known as “The Harbor”. Steve served as Senior Pastor in Santa Maria for 26 years, until retiring in March of 2014.

After retirement, Steve filled in for Pastor Dale whenever the need arose, and then served as our Interim Pastor in 2024-25 after Pastor Dale’s retirement. Now he’s back, serving again as Interim Pastor.  Steve still has a passion for the clear teaching of God’s Word, and is thrilled that God continues to use him at Cayucos Community Church.

Andrew Redel (Associate Pastor)

Andrew is an exceedingly talented musician and individual.  Andrew joined the Cayucos Community Church team in 2023 with several decades of musical and ministry experience—he plays a consistent and vital role in leading our church family into the presence of God in corporate worship on Sunday mornings.

Andrew has two young boys—AJ (Andrew Junior) and Eli.  His passion for Jesus, delight in congregational participation, musical skill, and encouraging spirit are a constant source of joy and benefit within our church family.

Cindy was raised in Southern California and moved to the Central Coast to attend Cal Poly.  After graduation, Cindy worked for 30 years as a Paralegal for the SLO District Attorney’s Office.

During that time, Cindy and her husband Kelly raised their family in Paso Robles.  Cindy was born again in 1986 and fell in love with Jesus while attending Calvary Church in Paso.  In 2012, after retirement, Kelly and Cindy moved to Cayucos—and she became a member of Cayucos Community Church in 2021.

Cindy loves to work in the yard, be with family, and do fabric landscape art.  Kelly is a retired landscape contractor—he loves to surf and has worked in the surf industry for years. She and her husband are grateful to be in Cayucos and part of Cayucos Community Church.

Merry Joslin (Nursery Director)

Merry first became a member at Cayucos Community Church in 1993.  Though she and her husband Andy had a home in Cayucos for decades—they permanently moved to Cayucos in 2015.

Prior to marriage, Merry worked at several libraries.  After marriage, Merry worked as a stay-at-home mom and worked at elementary school libraries as a volunteer.

Merry has years of children’s ministry experience and leads our Jr. Lighthouse Kids ministry (ages 0-4).  In addition, along with several others from our church family, Merry also participates in a Good News Club at Cayucos Elementary School.

Together, Andy and Merry have four amazing adult children—and quite a few grandchildren!  In her free time, Merry loves to garden and confesses to being a bit of a book worm.

We are ecstatic to have Merry on our team as she leads the charge to actively care for our most precious littles and support our amazing families.
